Everyone at our kick-off event wanted to know: What is in these amazing smoothies? Check out YogaHabits’ secret recipes below (and thank you Kevin for the fabulous catering at our event!)
Matcha smoothie (+/- 0.4 liter)
Matcha is a green tea powder containing a relatively high amount of chlorophyll, amino acid L-theanine and anti-oxidants. It is known as a relaxing, detoxifying nutrient that enhances concentration, energy and stamina. Need we say more?
Matcha has a slightly bitter taste. It's definitely an acquired taste, but trust us: It will get better. Start slow and add just one teaspoon to your smoothie. We've noticed that the more we drink it, the better (and less bitter) it tastes (and the more matcha we add to our smoothie!).
Preparation: Mix the following ingredients in your blender
0.2 liter rice-coconut milk (unsweetened)
2 bananas
1 to 2 teaspoons of matcha green tea powder
Optional small bunch of turnip tops
Cacao (green) smoothie (+/- 0.5 liter)
This is another accessible smoothie with a little bit of green. And for the chocoholics among us, it's just delicious!
Did you know that raw cocoa is rich in magnesium, antioxidants (flavonoids), iron, chromium, manganese, zinc, copper, vitamin C and omega-6 fatty acids? Since avocado and spinach are rich in potassium and magnesium this is also a great smoothie for all the Bikram and Hot yogi(ni)s among us.
Tip: Add more or less cacao to your own taste.
Preparation: Mix the following ingredients in your blender
0.25 liter almond milk (unsweetened)
2 big handfuls of spinach
1 banana
200 gram cherries (frozen)
1/4 ripe avocado

1 to 2 tablespoons of raw cacao
